The one burger I had in Aussieland had onions mixed into the meat patty in addition to the egg and beetroot. Pretty obvious the British sent them all there for crimes against food.
I've found a fried egg on just about anything is pretty phenomenal.
Beetroot is an incredible burger filling, to the point of being compulsory. Optional: a slice of pineapple.
I seem to recall reading that the original hamburger (made by a German cook in the states) had a fried egg on top of the patty...and it was served on bread for 20-odd years until someone had the bright idea to invent buns
Artery cloggingly so.
A fried egg on a burger is fucking heavenly.
There's an Aussie bar near me (Kangaroo & Kiwi in Ballard) that has the best goddam burger - w/ egg, beet, and other unexpectedly great stuff - well, egg on a burger is frankly not all that uncommon, but the beet gave it a pleasant sweetness that melded nicely with the the other flavors.
The beetroot is an awesome part of the Aussie burger experience. It just works, somehow. Now, if you just hate beets to begin with then it's probably hard to get past.
...and I was horrified at this fact in a bar in Portugal. Utterly baffling thing to include, IMO.

Been a season ticket hold for 9 years and this stuff always seems to happen in the upper deck. Most of time it is their 1st game and they just go crazy. The outcome of the game doesn't impact your life, so i do not know why people take it so seriously. Getting home safely to my family is much higher on my list then…
I'm with you man. Those were some crazy times and I bet the dickhead in this video was a Cowboys fan back then.

This has always been my argument. You don't think the government would do something like that, people say. Oh I think they WOULD, I just don't think they CAN. They are petty, generally incompetent schemers.

spot on. "Government can't do anything right...except all of this evil shit, somehow when it comes to that they're these unstoppable evil geniuses" yeah, no.
There's also a good movie about the case, with Chris Cooper as Hanssen. Breach.
I used to buy that wholesale, but the whole NSA business (though it did eventually come to light) belies the government incompetency argument because they actually managed to get these damned systems built *before* they spilled into public knowledge. Yes, any true government conspiracy will ultimately be betrayed by…
They're the same assholes who claim that the President is a political neophyte who should never have been elected because he's incapable of handling such a massive management position, and is also the most ruthless and effective sleeper agent Manchurian Candidate in the history of the world.
