I have just read the first book and have not watched any of the series. I had some real problems with the first book, even though it was steamy. I could barely read through the beating and her forgiveness of it. Am I going to watch this and get mad all over again?

I don’t think her statement is quite that bad. She is saying that HE doesn’t think he did anything wrong. She is probably right about this. But she continues by saying that, obviously, he did do something wrong because monies were paid out to the victim. And she is upset that those monies were public monies.
