You are letting a few Prius drivers write off the car. This type of mentality is exactly why I posted what I posted. These cars aren't bad and they are interesting. Yeah some of their drivers can be annoying, but we aren't talking people, we are talking cars. These cars do their job well and have pushed the technology

Ultimate lame econo-box, nah. Try driving an Aveo or older Hyundai accent. There are lots of really lame cars out there.

But the problem people have with the car is the attitude of the owners, not the car itself. The cars are actually pretty cool; When looked at as a working system. You can geek out with a Prii for days.

Of course it isn't by standard definition. But people refuse to give it credit where is deserves so if they need to change their idea of performance to give that credit then they need to do so.

I'm just tired of people hating for hates sake. It is not calculated, it is bullshit. Many replies I've received are just blind hate ("I couldn't respect myself if I drove one of those, HuuuurrrDuurrr" .

Made a reply, but the comment system swallowed it. I'm not writing that all out again, so here is a boildown.

That is what I'm thinking too. And I don't have any sodium carbonate gushing out of the ground in my back yard do you?

The C is basicly the Yaris. To me the on to see without the electrics would be the regular Prius.

I'd love to see a non-hybrid Prius. Much of the cars interstate MPG is based on that slick body.

When I see a Hummer H1 regularly driven buy someone on public streets and they aren't enlisted I don't think "badass"; I think "dumbass", tough guy wannabe. Don't get me wrong H1s are great vehicles, but not reasonable for a DD. I find the H2 even more pathetic on the "look at me" scale. Really talk about "slow,...

Nah Just tired of seeing blind hate pointed at a car. They certainly aren't sexy and they aren't Eco-friendly (in the big picture), but they are a focused car designed to do one thing right and that is better than beige any day.

Sure, it is not performance is a way that most people think about performance. But I think if people stop and think about how well they do hey task which they are designed for the Prius deserves some credit. They they offer increased capabilities over what a common car can offer and do so at a very slight premium.

What? Using a system to regain energy that is normally lost as heat is some sort of cop-out? It is really pretty smart. No mater how awesome an engine is you'll still lose that energy as heat in the brakes. Isn't it better to put it to work. Porsche thinks so. Hybrids forced many makers to actually spend money on

Is not efficiency a way to measure performance? I'm not saying it holds it own in drag races. I'm saying it is an instrument tuned for a specific use. It gives up some things to maximize others and you pay a premium for that performance.

Nah, not trolling. The Prius has done a service. It showed GM and other manufactures that they had their head up there ass. It attempts to maximize power utilization of gasoline. It is Ok to like the Prius. It doesn't mean you'd buy one. It doesn't mean you smell like patchouli or date girls that don't shave their

The Prius tries to maximize MPG per a given amount of gas. Here is an idea, stop measuring performance in only one way.

I don't own one, but Prii are performance cars and I like them. Sure they aren't what we normally consider performance cars, but being designed and built to maximize fuel consumption they are a performance car in many respects. I think that they are many times better than a beige Camry; because at the end of the day

Certainly, but it had a Maser engine.

I've always loved the Bora. My wife knows that if the right one pops up we'll have a big fight. They are beautiful. I'd even to a Merak in a hearbeat. But I think the most beautiful Maser is the amazing Maserati Ghibli. The convertible especially. It is substantiated and delicate at the same time. In person it is even

Disagree. The Bora was the top line. The Merak was a cheap Bora, with a lot of Citroen parts. Granted, I would love either.
