Proving the the Esprit is the ultimate swap car, I give you this. Esprits are light weight and have a decent amount of engine space, which is located right in the middle of the car.

Installed Ebay bolt-on turbo kit?
Excessive speed in cars with modern engine, suspension and brakes if the conditions allow. All vehicles on public roadway go the same speed, yet not all cars are really equal.
Wow, go M$. I'm normally not a fan of their stuff. But this is well thought out and impressive. Sadly they still suffer from the second to the party issue. But at least they have some good selling points.
It is scary how good it looks and how plausable it could be. It has a lot of "edge" styling. It could almost side in with the Ford Puma. The ovals fit almost too well.
@cobrajoe: That would be an awesome race. From what I've heard the Tucker would probably pull the win. But the real winners would be the folks who got to watch it.
@zacarious: They were very pretty cars. No need to do RWD, FWDs are plenty of fun, with a good suspension.
Oh yeah, 1965 Lincoln Continental. Big, big, big. Imagine the fun of seeing 2 of these battle for the racing line.
@cjlaw73: I don't know of any naturally aspirated, 1000HP Vettes or Vipers. If a 1000HP naturally aspirated one exists, it would probably not be something reasonable to drive on the streets (peaky and picky). It will agree thought that we are talking about differing technologies and mindsets.
Impressive, not what I would do with a third of a mil, but impressive.
@CJinSD: The DSG may not be "the Best" but DSG-like will be in cars that are normally seen as high cost of ownership I think a automated manual design will probably take over from automatics. They don't require skill to use, they are fast and they give you options. Options are a big thing. Remember when Manual-matics…
I think automatics are going away and DSG-like systems will replace them. Manuals have their place. They are inexpensive to produce and service and people who want them seek them out. If you knew 10% of the total sales in a segment would go to the cars that have manual transmissions you'd stock a manual.
@mkbruin: They made Caprice Wagons.
@McMike: Ditto
Look like the Civic will look a lot more like the Insight. I'm Ok with that. I thought the current civic was a pretty good looking car (I was only sad about the weight gain and less than grand suspension). This will probably end being an attractive hatchback-like car and we need plenty of those.
Omni GLHS. The 2.2 may not be tiny for its day, but it was still pretty small for a US company. Nestled into a light and usable car body, the GLHS was a terror in stock form and a physics-warper as power got added. Awe in the power of the 80's; Over built engines and turbochargers (if we only could have figured out…
Moving to the moon huh?
Jalopnik has made it!!! We are successful at DOSing sites. So now, what do we call it "Jaloped", "Nikd" or "Loped".
@Desu-San-Desu: I hope you won't man, that sucks.
@pauljones: $7200! I can hardly imagine what is would be like to spend so much money on repairing a Saturn. That has to suck. I would have tossed the car.
