I have to agree with you here. Does the movie lose some of the nuance and motivations of Amy without the inner dialogue? Sure it does. But even with my better understanding of her thought process in the book it didn't make me sympathize with her or find her anything less than crazy.

Gotta love the scene where both the cat and Ben have a "What the fuck is going to happen next?" look after Amy comes home.

Strip away Book Amy's complexities and you're left with little more than "crazy fucking bitch."

uh no mention of the kitty cat aka best character/actor in the film?

A few things:

I thought oil companies were ruining America but it was those pesky minorities all along.

And I'm tired of rich people (minority) running this country too.

I thought that the movie improved on the book by making these completely unlikeable characters a lot more relatable. The casting was perfect. And seriously, hats off to Tyler Perry.

Except that Witherspoon lacks the restrained elegance of Rosemund Pike, which I think was quite crucial for large parts of the film.

She was brilliant. My only beef with the movie is that it seemed like less of a "dueling narratives" thing than in the book, and more of a "look at this crazy thing that happens to this person". But the casting was spot. on. Even Tyler Perry, who I had my doubts about, especially cause when I heard NPH was in the

We've had our disagreements over automobiles, but this is definitely a position I can get behind. Unless I'm traveling half to the entire length of Japan, I would never dream of flying here. I'll take the trains even to go Tokyo to Kyoto, but I always flew Fukuoka to Tokyo, because it was considerably cheaper and

HAHAHAHAHA welcome to europe. *cries over being hit with a €75 "oversize" baggage fee for literally being a centimeter over the carryon limit*

Ah, got it, so flying should only be for a limited portion of the population when necessary, and the rest of us should fuck the right off, eh? Or we should never travel unless we bow down to the eco gods and their intermediaries such as yourself?

This is actually interesting...because Spirit (the airline that charges for carry ones) was created in part because of people bitching and moaning that they ONLY wanted to pay for the services they used. Those people didn't want to pay for extra cargo space so OTHER people can have carry ons and they especially

Take me with you!

Unfortunately, air travel is pretty much irreplaceable for long-distance travel. Unless you prefer that people stop traveling and being part of the larger world— and we know how well that's gone in the past?

The video game one in particular drives me nuts, because I remember paying saving up $70 for one of the SNES Street Fighter 2 games in the early to mid-1990s.

Bag fees are just airlines making up for consumers chasing cheap airfares, plain and simple.

I commented with this on the first article, but as a biracial girl raised by a white mother, I feel for this family. It is no fun being raised by a woman you look nothing like. My mom did the best she could in our overly white town, but it sure as hell wasn't easy, and we heard some nasty words from all sorts. No
