You just inspired me. I donated both to an animal shelter and a non-religious affiliated homeless shelter (more to the people obviously).
Without coming across as combative, how are cycles of abuse explained then? Sure, everyone has the ability to make their life what they want. But those cycles are real.
That's awesome you volunteer! I am unable to foster any pets let alone adopt one so I look at the local shelter websites.
