Yes, they're durable! The "Maytag" of cars. Although I had a 740 GLE 16v which was fairly high maintenance, it was still a great car. One of the best matched powertrains of any automatic-transmission equipped car i've driven.

This is exactly one of the reasons I got a deal on my C5 Corvette. Stock (almost) always gets the higher price. Mine had fairly irreversible modifications. Fortunate for me, they were things I would've done myself anyway.

You can't really compare them straight up though, There were only 46,037 Z34s produced from 1991-1994 and 84,898 Taurus SHO models produced from 89-95. There were more Camrys produced in one year than those combined. I was just making a point that they were less beige than a Camry.
Not to mention the 92-93 with the way more durable 3VZ-FE V6.
