I met Torch briefly when I bought my truck last year, he was nice enough to meet me in an empty gravel lot in an undisclosed location in North Carolina. I got to drive the Chang-Li and he got to whip the Beige Unicorn around the lot. It was exactly as awkward as I hoped it would be.

I eat lunch at my favorite Indian restaurant pretty much every Friday (I’m basically Norm from Cheers at that place, I have my own table). That means I spend more on Indian food most months than I do on gas, even at current prices. Yawn.

Trying to wrap my brain around that Hurst shifter. I mean, what does it DO that the stock version doesn’t? And how much does that white knob/ornament cost, since I doubt it has any actual function?

I probably wouldn’t buy this because of the damage and VIN, which are red flags, but the other things don’t bother me so much.

In a car like this, there’s always going to be stories of “my car had a rebuilt titled and I put 200k on it” and “my car had a rebuilt title and was a miserable money pit.”

I’ll be keeping an eye on that one. I’ve got a 2000 with just over 80,000 miles on it that I’m rehabilitating.

Just finished doing cooling system, vanos seals, valve cover, throttle body and harness. Still have suspension and then an interior swap to finish.

It’s a nice car and I’m even in the market right now for something just like this, but this price seems... high. I’m not even PARTICULARLY afraid of the rebuilt title, GEICO will happily give me the coverage I’d want on a car like this contingent on inspection which I’d want to have done before purchase ANYWAY.

If I am gonna have a collectors’ car it is most certainly going to be something unusual. Another ‘64 Mustang or MGB is just pointless.
