We did a road trip up to the wine country in a diesel Rabbit truck. 450 pounds of passengers up front and 180 pounds of German Shepherds in crates in the shell on back. Gave the 18 wheelers a run for their money over the Grapevine. 50 mpg for the trip.

I saw one fly down at El Toro back in the ‘70's. It made a couple passes then turned its nozzles toward the crowd and lit the burners. Climbed out of sight. It was glorious. I have some std 8 (no sound) film of it up in the attic somewhere.
