If you’re worried about your exposure to gun stocks, Morningstar has a new report about how to find out whether your funds are invested in these companies and some things you can do about it.

Also, admitting in a Congressional Hearing to lying for the President doesn’t mean a thing. It’s not the same thing as lying for the President in a Congressional Hearing.

She was Communications Director for the White House. White lies have probably in the job description for half a century.

This comment is entirely fair. It’s not just “Hollywood” that has a disparity problem. It’s the entire supply chain, and like you said, there’s a reason for that disparity. It doesn’t make it right, but there it is.

Well, they wouldn’t have to disclose. I would assume, though, that a good agent would fight harder for the women because they know there’s money being left on the table.

No, this response is nonsense.

Now that’s a nugget I haven’t heard of before. Good call, I hadn’t thought of most of that....

I never said it was unfair - just that it’s designed to get her. She can’t answer it and win. Her only option is to not answer it, which isn’t much better for her, and doesn’t give anyone who thinks about the question any insight into what she actually thinks - she doesn’t have a good option to actually answer

I keep asking this question. Where is the analysis of the agents’ actions?

See, you’ve touched on the point that I keep harping on - what’s up with the agents? The agents of female actors don’t ONLY represent women - they know how much much is made by whom, including wage gaps between genders. So what’s up with that? Why aren’t the agents doing a better job? Are they partly (or mostly) to

Right, so it’s designed to go after her. Not her father, not to shed light on the situation, not to help the victims. It’s designed to go after her.

It’s a legitimate question to do what, exactly?

They didn’t ask a public official to take a position on the president. They explicitly asked a daughter to take a position on her father. Tbh, if they have phrased the question differently and referred to him as the president, I wouldn’t have objected so much...

I should clarify - I meant a “nothing question” in that it doesn’t do anything to confirm or refute the allegations against the father.

So we agree - it’s a salacious question designed to focus on the daughter.

Here’s my counter for you - so if I take for granted that the media would ask any daughter whose father is accused of sexual assault, what’s the point of asking any of the daughters? Either way the daughters answer, does that give any insight or have any bearing on what anyone thinks of the father or on the legality

Well, you’re not looking for the genes themselves... you’re looking for the effects the genes have, which is high levels of cholesterol, etc., which are the same causes of heart attacks for people who don’t have genetic factors.

Full disclosure: non-American white dude here. Of all the people I have crossed paths with in my life, both non-American and American, there have been very few who are actually overtly racist to any degree. I assume that this is the experience for most people who don’t live in the deep south.

Oh, I TOTALLY misread your comment! I’m talking about the first one, you’re talking about the second! Yep, I’m totally with you.

I don’t know that it’s not good - it’s an action movie that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I see it as an Indiana Jones-ish type reboot.
