I recommended it elsewhere in this thread, too - it's a genuinely great car/racing movie. I mean, sure, some people might frown on it for being too sci-fi, or for being animated, but it genuinely captures the feel and spirit of racing better than almost any other car movie I've seen.

I didn't get that way when he crashed - but the look on his face when Jay Leno(quite rightly) basically said "You can blame the tyres, you can blame the road, you can blame the car, but in the end, this is YOUR fault. You did this to your car", that hit me right in the gut.

I'll vote for that - looks like we had the same thought a few minutes apart. Fucking great movie.

You know, if you liked Speed racer, you should give REDLINE a try. You can watch the whole movie free on youtube, on the Manga Entertainment channel. If you're not in love by the time the first guitar lick kicks in, then there's something vastly wrong.

A lot of great films have been mentioned so far, but one has been left out, and it's damn near a crime, it's absolutely deserving to be counted amongst the finest car movies ever made.

REDLINE.

Fantastic visuals, wicked cars even if it's a bit sci-fi, lunatic racing, an pumping note-perfect soundtrack, leather jackets

I can't help but notice that his fancy jacket didn't do much to help when his bollocks impacted his tank at 45 miles an hour.

Some recalls take a lot longer. I'm still driving a car - well, van - that was recalled five times between it's model year and 1994, with the final being the recall of the entire line, which they subsequently crushed - all over a tiny issue that caused them to sometimes burst into flames and burn to the ground. 1990

I know it's a few years late to reply to this thread, but I actually own one of these. Great van, hasn't caught fire once, no mechanical issues. It's been a bloody good vehicle for years now, though it's starting to get a little rusty round the edges.

What I can't figure out is where they got all these American cars that you didn't see when the original is filmed, you don't see often here in real life. Is there some sort of weird post-apocalyptic import-market out there?

"Aw man I can't reach those delicious leaves up the top of the tree"
"Don't worry bro I got you."

I see he's clearly read my new best-selling self-help book, Zen and the art of wanking yourself silly.

I love it when coincidences line up just right. For example, the fact that I was listening to this just as I switched tabs to this story in my morning news crawl.

That's pretty good, but still not a patch on Chuck "Malibu" Aaron. Dude is crazy, he's an airframe/powerplant mechanic, test-pilot for the Apache, built three working Cobras from spare parts, and he's one of only three Aerobatics-rated chopper pilots in the world - And he trained the other two. And to top it all off,

I dunno about that, as long as Chuck Aaron is still flying.

Interesting, I have been previously mislead. Well, Mea Culpa, sorry about that, and thanks for the information!

Er, so? I'd think from someone who claims to be involved with the most Gadget-obsessed military force on the planet in some capacity, I'd think you understand you use the best gear for your needs that you can afford. Our gear is from all over? No shit, welcome to global trade, dummy.

We didn't design them, true, but we are capable of doing so. We designed the F-111C. And some of the Australian F-111s were built in Australia, by Boeing Australia, as well as the Super Hornets we have in service. I get it, Rah rah America best in the world patriotism etc, but you straight up don't know what you're

I wouldn't doubt it.

Hoon with a van here, and I can tell you how - It's because the arse-end of most vans are comparatively very light when unloaded, which makes them surprisingly easy to throw about, amongst other things. It's a bit like when you throw a hammer up in the air - the light end tends to want to rotate around the heavy end,

I drive a somewhat unexpected vehicle that smokes like a Ferarri.
