I think you’re being a little too anxious about the show spoiling the books. It’s pretty much creating it’s own “ending” to the series and has diverged quite a bit from the books. I beat Twilight Princess back in 06/07, but I don’t remember too much about it. I remember being a wolf... and some cool weapons (and that ridiculous spinner thing). Excited to try out the HD version here in a week or so.
