This was my complaint with the winter games last year. The games were an hour from here but we had to watch everything on a 3 hour delay while the east coast got it live. I did something similar, but easier. Plastic trash can with lid. Drill holes in the sides for air. Fill with yard waste. Bungee the lid on. Every couple days I just tip it on it's side, roll it back and forth a few times and put it back.
