Hard Corps Uprising is a spiritual successor to the Contra series, which is why it feels so familiar. As pitseleho pointed out, it's made by the people who own Contra, so it's not ripping it off so much as using the formula under a different name.

I'm with you 100% on the preorder bonuses. I bought a physical copy of Gravity Rush specifically for the preorder bonuses, and it was my first physical purchase for the Vita. The only reason I went physical for this one was since I can carry one cartridge in the system, so having one game as a cartridge isn't so

I liked what Heavy Rain did, but there were multiple sections in the game where I felt the controls were just not responsive enough, or were just plain frustrating, to the point where it ruined the experience for me. In a game where failure is not a "try again" situation, but rather changes the outcome of your entire

As someone who was originally skeptical that they'd pull Brotherhood off, I know that was the case for me. I ended up being glued to Brotherhood for a few evenings straight after getting it, and was hoping Revelations would have the same effect. Revelations had its share of fun gameplay, but all around it just

I'm just going to assume that the WiiU will be region locked just like everything else Nintendo puts out. I really wish they'd keep things open, as I'd be a lot more apt to buying their hardware then, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I will gladly take all of your garlic and cheese bread.

Looking forward to Gravity Rush tomorrow! That's all I've got :]

I don't play it as much as you, but my thoughts on the game, and my recommendation of it, are the same.

They're a lot more symmetrical in NS2 than in NS1, actually, but they still want them to be unique sides, which I think is good. Balancing is of course more difficult with every team not being identical, but it makes things a lot more interesting, especially with how radically different the Marines and Aliens tend to

While I think they've made tremendous strides with the game's development over the last year, I keep seeing this as well. It seems like tons of community members give detailed explanations of why they feel aliens are imbalanced at the moment, but then pretty much every patch that comes along is neat changes for the

Unless they change plans, it's not. Right now you can pre-purchase it for $35 and play the beta prior to release (it's been highly playable for over a year now, though it's definitely still in development and experiencing big changes to mechanics/gameplay). My guess is the retail game will run $45-50, though I could

Dear HBO....make HBO Go not require an HBO subscription and I'd gladly consider your service. I don't have cable in the first place, so I pirate the show as it airs, and then buy the season on Blu-ray once it comes out (or at least that's what I did with the first season).

I've always just assumed that 95% of the people that have been clamoring for a FFVII remake would say they did a terrible job on it once it released. It would be a horrible move for Square Enix to make it, but I think they realize that :P

Love the design of Aveline. Really glad this game is going to be completely different from the main title. Doubt I'll be picking it up on release day since I'd rather just get AC3, but eventually.

For what it's worth, I can't imagine the life on a Vita being much longer if (when) Sony starts using it for more "Cross Controller" stuff, which is basically mimicking what the Wii U introduced. Smart Glass is similar, and if it's being used for some sort of active app tied to the game you're playing at the moment,

Make it so your real life smartphone can act as the character's device. That'd be really cumbersome for actually playing the game, but it'd be kinda neat in a way.

I think most of the graphical stuff is UI changes, and I don't think any of this is live in the game now. I haven't tried the game in a long time, but I've followed the updates. They've been reworking a TON about the game's systems and mechanics to make it far, far less asinine and to have a lot more diverse content

I need to watch that movie again soon. Love the soundtrack :P

I haven't heard any official word of it, but I would absolutely assume so. That's how they've always done all their DLC for TES and their Fallout games as well, afaik.

Actually, I think at the moment I have the lightning stun chance passive in place of Astral Presence. Not sure how much I like that though. I should definitely try out RoF with that rune. I really liked the disintegrate one that had a similar effect.
