Braking distances and reaction times generally aren't a huge factor on freeways, unless you're talking about going from highway speeds to stop-and-go. I've seen a lot of accidents on the highway and they all involved someone changing lanes and not paying attention to their surroundings.

On wide freeways where everyone is going the same direction at roughly the same speed there is no safety difference between 55, 65, 75 or 85.

Thank you for NOT making this a slide show!

Remember when everybody said Hamilton should  just go ahead and retire? Yeah… this year maybe a bust, but next year now that they’ve finally started tuning the car to his style…

This tip is only useful for direct flights. And varies wildly depending on the airline.

If you drive one of those humongous trucks like a Ram Compensator or Ford PP-X10DR that is longer and wider than a parking spot, do not park anywhere near the front of the store where you impede traffic getting past your car or the ability for other cars to exit their spots. Instead park as far away from the store as

Okay, but the flip side of that is: if you see someone waiting for your spot, don’t dawdle any more time than is reasonably necessary.

Heck my car is 11 years old and I still park as far away as I can (just to stay away from all the dickheads).

For those that are more than a little over the line, I’ll fold in their side view mirrors, esp the passenger side (of course, I need to in order to get past with them being over the line and all...)

If you got a brand new car and you’re afraid of getting scratched or dinged by a door; DON’T take up two spots close to the entrance of the building. Instead park as far away as you can (if you want to take two spots then, that’s fine) and walk.

If you get out of your car and see you’re parked over or too close to the line, too far in or too far out, hindering someone’s access to their car, or otherwise like an asshole, get back in your car and fix it. I don’t care if you drive a pickup so big you need a ladder to get in it with tires so wide they have their

I’m partial to the Bay Bridge given my grandpa on my dad’s side worked on it’s construction in the 30s. But I agree, the Golden Gate is the nicer drive - it’s an international landmark for a reason.

Not sure about your area, but similar to fast food (except for jesus chicken, which has super strict rules), the stations here are not that. It’s a single person/company who owns several of them. So, if the owner of the mobil by the house is a dick, I would need to switch brands or drive several miles out of the way

Actually, most of these stations/shops are mom and pop. They are individually owned franchises. Not that different from a McDonalds or Subway.

Going to second that. Not a lot of bridge drives more special than the Golden Gate.

Starting it again? It never went away.

That’s not a French flag. France’s flag is Red, White, Blue with the stripes oriented vertically.

The Bridges on the way to Big Sur are a delight

My pick is the Coronado Bridge. It rises to a height of 200 feet above the bay, and it’s a little over 2 miles long. It’s not quite the work of art of some of the ones below, but the view from it is stunning. I cross it almost every day and it never gets old. Seeing that view as I’m heading toward the island makes my

Passenger opinions: one of a long list of things that airlines do not care about.
