Tyler, are you working on a piece addressing Major Morten “Dolby” Hanche’s recent published opinion of the F-35 and its dogfight performance?

Unfortunately the thrust to weight ratios of toys and difference in Reynolds numbers (aerodynamic scaling) don’t really make that a very relevant comparison.

Not surprised you think that. The anti-Osprey mafia trumpets that misconception like it is gospel. It was an issue in only very specific flight envelopes, and NATOPS has addressed it well.

No more manual transmissions, no more full-time AWD. Why would I even consider Audi anymore? I guess I was one and done with by new B8.5 6MT (yeah, I actually put my money where my mouth was on manuals).

So long Audi, it was a fun couple years looking forward to your new cars.

You think this is frustrating? Imagine coming up with the patentable invention, and then working with lawyers who have to author it in this fashion to get it through the USPTO.

Trust me, the whole process sucks.

Input drive shaft failure. This would explain the yaw to the left and the increase in tail rotor speed, not to mention the descent.

Less likely, a LH front seat passenger put their hand down on the collective

if the TT-RS actually gets a 6MT in the USA I will eat my shoe

I read about that and am convinced Audi has that setup in a mule just to twist the knife in American manual fans.

No manual option. BMW gives us a stick in the M2....wtf Audi? Do you want me to abandon your brand?

Love this car. Needs all black trim, for sure.

But WTH is up with the seats? Talk about low-rent, cheap looking...

except the consumer version is running at HD resolution per-eye, rather than half of that as was the case on DK2. The improved clarity is stark, and small elements like HUD symbology can now be read.

Loved the DK2 and DCS.

Can’t wait for the commercial version I preordered. Resolution and inability to really see the HUD was my only real complaint on the kit.

PS Was able to sell my DK2 for more than I paid for it new on ebay...if you get the itch...

Yeah, PIC is still right seat in a Yankee...

There is absolutely no way the wood shifter in the Carrera GT was made of balsa

You forgot to mention they dropped the manual option in all their new cars here.

Huh? Pilot in the left seat?

PIC seat position has nothing to do with tail rotor configuration.

The cylinder on the left is the lead/lag damper, though the camera is mounted to the grip so you are looking at the end of the assembly that’s moving in the same frame of reference. If we had a wider field of view, you’d definitely see the damper working relative to the hub.

Its a shame this was steady level flight, you should see footage of a soft-in-plane rotor system with composite blades & cyclic flapping!

Lame.

He is going to the bench, his replacement had already taken the ice. If he gets in the play it’s a too many men minor.
