You're telling me that in the long run that people who associate luxury brands with expensive models will not lose the luster when they see numerous other cars on the roads which are now suddenly affordable by the "masses"? Do you not subscribe to the idea of a veblen good?
Uhh, both Audi and MB have both very pointedly conceded that they creating models that are downmarket IN RELATIVE TERMS TO THE REST OF THEIR LINEUPS in hopes to lure buyers from higher end non-luxury marques.

A microwave makes perfect sense. It's faster, more efficient and is a progression in tech. I am big fan of grilling. But...as with everything, times are changing. We are still able to cook our food...just not like we used to.
Funny, I actually purchased a new $50k+ vehicle 1 month ago specifically because it was available with a manual over its competitor. Some people do actually speak with their wallets.
Well, youre missing the entire point of the M-line's existence with this argument. Cars like the M3/M4 are not a case for "whats going to make the absolute most money for the company", if that were a reality then BMW would be Toyota.
