I had a copy of this a couple of years back. I found it during one of my thrift store visits for $1.91 complete. Being a WWII buff and lusting over these games when I was in HS in the late 70s I bought it.

Can we please send all of them to the Upside Down?

This weekend I saw a shirt with Stranger Things-style art and font, but instead of the cast, it had stylized versions of the Tom Brady, et al., and said “Patriot Rings”.

So re-brand as “Stranger Stuff” and take out all explicit references to the show. It’s not like Netflix owns “80s nostalgia” just because they produced 1 show.

Riker shared that Discovery will be going to the Mirror Universe

I strongly believe Frakes was permitted to drop this spoiler on purpose, because the fans are not on board 100% and they’re trying to entice them somehow.

Will it explain why the fuck the kids kept ditching their bikes in the middle of the road????? THAT ISN’T A THING!

Try pan frying a rust monster, I dare you!..

The director wants to give the only black character more agency by making him a junkie. Ooooookayyyy.

Interesting, that is a really great articulation of an idea. I don’t know if I can think of any groundbreaking anything (comics, movie, television, books) that hasn’t since been surpassed. Once someone comes up with a new idea that no one had ever had before, others come along and polish it until it shines.

Kinja is a cancer. I say this is a related comment because King originally wanted to call IT “Cancer” originally for the book’s title. His wife promptly told him that was a horrible idea and he listened.

Making the one black character into a junkie? What? Why do they need to make a movie about a psycho demon clown darker?

Honestly, I think that Preacher has aged badly enough that I didn’t really need to ever experience it again, and the parts of it that were memorable were so obviously unsuited for television that I don’t know why anyone ever thought it could be adapted meaningfully.

Personally, I like Lauren Ambrose (Claire!) or Alicia Witt (Cherish!).

Pretty much this. It’s definitely not a parody.

Wonder Boys is one of my all time favourites, with a terrific cast including RDJ just as he's reaching comeback status.

I'd like to see an article - and maybe it's already been done - that talks about movies that were adapted from books but had a scene made from scratch added to it that enhances the movie. Like this one and Baldwin's scene in Glengarry Glen Ross.

LA Confidential is a book where I can honestly go "You know, I think a 8-part HBO miniseries might not be able to cover everything." It's so dense in scope and scale and character that's I'm genuinely impressed that Hanson and Helgeland managed to sit down, go "Alright, what's the actual story here." and actually

LA confidential is without question the most impressive adapted screenplay of all time IMO. It is totally true to the source material while trimming and rewriting plot details from a novel that is so dense it's basically impossible to turn into a movie.

Fuuuuuck this scene is so good and, as noted in the article, it's completely created from scratch for the Film adaptation.
