I really just hope the next 2-3 years are Square 1, fun on small scale and great storytelling and character-building. I’m good -- I think WE’RE good -- on epics for another half-decade.

Almost as great is the moment right before that, when battered Steve Rogers, all alone, is like, “I’ll fight all of you. Let’s go.

I mean, the star of Butch Cassidy and The Sting is part of the MCU forever. Fucking wild.

All in just 11 years. It’s inconceivable.

From the comics... The Winter Soldier/Hawkeye mini-series that came in the wake of Black Widow’s death in Nick Spencer’s Secret Empire ... with a little tweaking ... provides an excellent path for Black Widow to return to the present day MCU. Will be interesting to see what they do. Have to believe the ball is in the

So Wong *didn’t* get dusted, but OTOH nobody thought to touch base with him during the five years after The Snap. Thinking out loud: Maybe Doctor Strange ordered Wong to keep hidden from Stark & Co., knowing that might influence their thinking and screw up the One Shot.

You make some good points. But again I’ll say that it’s good we got more chances with Thor after his fairly dry first outing (a thankless job for Branagh to get us through all that exposition) and although I’m a huge Doctor Strange fan, the first movie just fell flat for me, but I’m more than willing to re-enter that

That’d be the unrated version.

I just don’t think you can judge any of the characters off their origin story. There’s typically so much more freedom for character exploration in the second outing.

Sounds like, despite the setup at the end of Endgame, that GOTG3 will not feature a huge Thor presence. They’re using Gunn’s script, which didn’t account for a Thor co-lead. So they’ll probably find a reason to exit him off stage early in GOTG3.

but when did Strange have a chance to communicate with Wong after his future-gazing?

Avatar was the Myst of movies. Everyone had to check it out.

You’re probably right. But we need to remind ourselves to give them time. They are at (basically) square one again. You can’t have another true peak without another slow buildup, over multiple movies. Give us 8-12 great movies with Danvers, Spider-man, Stephen Strange, Black Panther and Shuri.... Sprinkle in some new

Everyone’s doing a great job with the obvious and correct answers, so I’ll zig-zag and add: (1) pretty  much all the Dr. Strange villains, (2) Hellcat, (3) NAMOR, and (4) give me a period piece set in the 1970s with James-Michael Starling; then if you like him, find a way to propel him into the modern narrative.

Wait. You think you’re getting away with that throwaway trashing of The Goonies at the top of this post. The Goonies absolutely holds up. In fact, as an adult the only thing I cringe at is some of the unnecessary language, which makes it less fun for sharing with the youngest kids. The Goonies is great, though!

I’m just sitting here, trying to think what to type that’s not obvious or rude.

This is actually great news. That’s a LOT of story and years remaining. When I read the headline I was worried BKV was rushing to wrap this up like Paper Girls. But now maybe it seems he’s clearing (the awesome) Paper Girls off the decks so he can focus on Saga for the next half-decade.

Literally 0% of the quips in the trailer were funny or packed a punch.

This could be lot of fun, but I think it works best if Kate-focused. Also, the best Clint/Kate stories in comics kind of require Clint to be a bit of an old-school doofus. OK, a *lot* of a doofus. He’s become an almost charming dim bulb. Do they want to take Renner’s iteration of the character in that direction? Also,

Yep. I’m seeing it the afternoon of the 27th and pretty much will begin a self-imposed online/digital blackout sometime on the 24th.
