I know this is a petty complaint and there are 100 worse things that these awful people did, but also- fuck them for naming this poor kid Huxley.
Storage for devices that run personal/government/military computers is far more essential than manufacturing for niche vehicles during a pandemic where tons of people aren't driving.
It makes a little more sense that a hard disc drive manufacturer/data storage company might be considered essential while an electric (largely luxury) car manufacturer is not.
I could say the same about BMW. To change out the filter housing gasket, right in front in plain view, you must remove the intake manifold.
It’s complex in the sense that there’s one crazy piece of metal with all kinds of valves jammed into it, but the components that fail don’t seem to be that difficult to replace. It’s also located in a reasonably accessible part of the car. My guess is that you’d just pop the whole unit out, pop out the failed…
And even then, they design them even more to be more of a “swap out the entire assembly for a new one” way of doing it, then they can take the parts to another facility for diagnosis rather than having a customer wait however it takes.
