I think the simple answer is Hyundsis went with it because Lexus had lots and lots of parts left in a bin somewhere and cut Genedai a great deal on them.

Every time Ive bought OEM, they have NEVER lasted anywhere near the length of time/miles that the factory OEM set did. Both tires and brake pads. No idea why, it just never works out the same for me the second time around.
