Agreed. With the “future valuability” being in question, I dont see much advantage to keeping everything VIN-correct.
Im more curious about what a “brand new” now 4 year old car is worth if someone was ever dumb enough to buy it. 4 years of instant depreciation as you drive off the lot?

While I mostly agree, Ive read plenty of FCA RRTs and TSBs and most of them have a note like “if an affected vehicle does not fall within the VIN listing, perform recall steps”.
