Could be. I remember when I first sat in an ES and messed with it (ignition was off) I figured I would hate it. Then we test drove with the dealer and it wasnt so bad. Then we got a loaner for a weekend and that pretty much cemented it as better than a touchscreen.

I dont doubt its coming, but would it really be expected to completely change the dynamics of the car from “base” to “what it should be”? I dont think the Type S variants of past Acuras have really transformed the cars into something else completely. I feel like the closest they came was the CL-S with the 6 speed, but…

Same here. Except for me its Carquest. They know what they are doing, always willing to help (offered to deliver stuff right to my house once they get it from their warehouse, etc) and just in general are nice people. All of their “private” labelled stuff is made by excellent OEMs so there is even a cost savings…

I paid more for those reasons (more options, more warranty, much better dealer experience).

Drove both of them. The ES rides a bit better and can get some options the Avalon cant.

Pretty much what Acura says. Except the whole “its that kind of feeling” implies the car shouldnt feel like its pulling itself out of mud from every stoplight.

Its not a published issue like the parking pawl recall. Its the issue of complaints about shifting performance, lag time before downshifting, too high of a gear for the given mph, etc.
