So I was responding to someone's comment here, but I think his comment was removed, and now there's like 5 other comments expressing a similar sentiment, so I'll just put my opinion out there for whoever.

Absolutely wrong. Popular culture has a huge effect on the course society takes and showing homosexual relationships as equal to heterosexual relationships is always good for the equality movement.

I understand that if it's an isolated story that establishes it's own characters; I wouldn't expect the main protagonist of a JRPG-with-dating-elements to go both ways, for instance.
