Oh, my God, this fan fiction: "Maybe he said something like, 'Nice way for a mother to behave.'" Jezebel, if you're going to just indulge in making shit up about celebrities, why not go all the way? MAYBE SOLANGE WAS POSSESSED BY A VENGEFUL GHOST.
So I was responding to someone's comment here, but I think his comment was removed, and now there's like 5 other comments expressing a similar sentiment, so I'll just put my opinion out there for whoever.
The tagline for the game is "Your Friends. Your Drama. Your Life". It should come as no surprise that some people want to play as themselves.
Yeah, there's no creative direction anymore because a game about relationships might include same-sex relationships in the sequel.
No. Nope. Nay. Never.
'Same-sex marriage preachers' are the people who got us this far in the first place. If they weren't so vocal, marriage equality wouldn't even be considered because no one would be speaking up about it.
As a woman about to be married to a woman, I disagree. It would be nice to be represented. EVER.
And there you have it. They made a mistake, they apologized and I can actually believe that it would be hard to patch something like this in since making relationships is a core part of the game itself.
This is purely anecdotal, but in my experience, generally no, sometimes yes. Most people stay quiet the whole time, unless it's a comedy, but every once in a while there's one or two people who seem incapable of enjoying a movie without making sure everyone else knows they're enjoying it. And it always seems to be 40…
You don't "have" rape, you *get* raped. And yes, it is as afwul (if not more so) as kiling, especially when it is only for shock value. Even GRRM hated that scene, I am surprised at the reactions expressed by some people on this article.
uh... Yeah, I wasn't saying I'm interested in Zoe Quinn. I was saying I think she's a weird person in a good way. She seems to bring that same creativity to her game-making, and I appreciate even more weird and unique people in game development.
I'm married.
To all of those that are offended that someone would want gay marriage in a video game, history will bury you.
That obviously an out of date definition, as several states and nations allow for same sex unions. Likewise, other nations allow for poly marriage as well.
Gee, there are are so many people here enlightened enough to tell us this is a non-issue. I'm really glad to know how comfortable you all are with a minority being underrepresented in the industry. Now I can finally sleep at night.
Yeah it's a such a joke asking for pop culture to reflect the diversity of the audience. I take your point that economics should be factored in, but on the other hand, companies like this are always looking to "diversify their market share" in order to appeal to the widest possible demographic. That's capitalism: the…
Absolutely wrong. Popular culture has a huge effect on the course society takes and showing homosexual relationships as equal to heterosexual relationships is always good for the equality movement.
I understand that if it's an isolated story that establishes it's own characters; I wouldn't expect the main protagonist of a JRPG-with-dating-elements to go both ways, for instance.
Tomodachi Life, however, is essentially a sandbox where you're supposed to be able to have an avatar of yourself and your friends…
The world changes quite often based on what's presented in the media. There's a reason MLK asked Nichelle Nicols to stay on Star Trek TOS.
