When you make less then 2k a month it sure is. If you have a significantly modified car the only realistic way to see any decent money from it is to slowly part it out and return it to stock. Or just wait for that one perfect buyer with the same taste as you.

Well book value is just a crap shoot these days. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that the insurance industry and the dealers have seriously undervalued automobiles in the book in name of profit.
