The Jim Henson Company died with Jim Henson. But it’s good to see there’s still some marrow to suck out of his bones.

When I saw the headline I knew something was off. People have been talking about these no-knock warrants for years and cops gave nary a fuck about them. Then there was the promise of charges. Charges against the police being talked about this soon? This did not compute. The cynic in me said that this couple must have…
“a common reaction among his friends, fans, and business associates was shock.”
No one’s saying it’s your fault as a man that other men do shitty things. You’re oddly committed to that disingenuous canard for someone who “doesn’t want to be made out like an MRA.”
The thing about this being a men’s issue is that it largely is. That doesn’t mean every man is guilty of it—but it does mean that we, as…
Yes, their comment literally read, “Kinja user fleshsword is a rapist”
No, it didn’t, and stop taking it so personally when the word “men” is used. You’re male and NOT a rapist? Great, then you shouldn’t be bothered one bit by that comment.
The problem is the low, low, low fucking standards that us men tend to hold for ourselves. Namely, that so long as I never “rape” anyone, as in drag a woman into the shadows and have my way with her, then I’m not a bad guy.
you should sit down and think about why your response is bad, and why all these people would risk repercussion in their own careers to go on record talking about him.
I’ve attended cons since 2002, and attended on press badges since about 2010. I’ve been given numerous opportunities for interviews with Vic over the years. I’ve never once done it, because I’ve been hearing stories about his behavior since 2007 and I refused to be in a room alone with him under any circumstance. I am…
If you consider where his fanbase overlaps with the fanbases of other elements of nerd culture (comics, gaming, etc) it’s really not all that surprising.
I wonder what it’s supposed to mean that I’m more inclined to think he did it because he responds to so many allegations saying, “I remember it happening, but not that way exactly,” rather than a flat denial.
I hope this finally shuts up all those people who claim that the diseases vaccines protect against are “no big deal” with modern medicine and hygiene. It’s probably a vain hope, but I still hope.
If you read further down you will see that the bad science reporting on the Dengvaxia vaccine caused people to fear the vaccines.
We discuss this is more or less academic terms with statistics and percentages, but what we’re missing is that these kids are terribly, terribly sick. Its not like a little rash that shows up and goes away - the whole body is affected, and these little kids can have a fever of 104F as well as a really sore throat,…
A lot of the people bashing anti-vaxxers, as much as they might deserve it, please read closer. In the Philippines situation, this is coming on the heals of a legit vaccine scare. This came after a recently distributed (but unrelated) vaccine was found to have a risk of causing a more severe case of the disease it was…
The most recent study I saw indicates Autism is likely genetic, as evidence was found in fetuses just a few weeks old.
So one school we’re dealing with has got to the point with whooping cough (technically aka pertussis) that they’ve required kids who get sick with whatever to come back to school with proof of testing negative for pertussis. Otherwise, they can’t step on campus. Now, the vax for pertussis behaves the same as some…
Yes. Vaccination is not 100% effective. 1 dose is about 93% effective, 2 doses about 97% effective. When enough vaccinated people get exposed to enough carriers, some will contract measles. In fact, some of the people who contracted measles in the PNW had one dose of vaccine.
55 cases of vaccine injury were found to have been caused by the measles vaccine...over the last 30 years, nationwide. That’s about the same number of kids in Washington state alone who got the measles this month because they weren’t vaccinated.
I’m told he resides in Austin, TX currently.
given as alex jones is a prominent anti-vaxxer, i’d say no, not 100%.
