I worked for a guy once who was so picky, I asked him once if he spelled "anal retentive" with or without a hyphen. He was the owner of a small business. I liked him personally, and he was pleasant to work with, so I didn't take the nitpicking personally.

I gotta try that. It should work... I work in a church!

I like the countdown stoplights, but I'm befuzzled by the fact that they are not used in every intersection. My highly unscientific survey shows they are seldom placed at the intersections where there are traffic cameras. Pffft.

Pictures! We want pictures!

I have never seen such a thing. I don't believe it exists. Although I did complain to my roommate about the tongue prints in the bottom of our coffee carafe.

Another nice thing about cinder blocks is they will usually contain those more invasive plants. Like mint.

No one wants to constantly hear "at my last job, we ...." unless you are asked directly if you have an idea. Even then, no idea or procedure is a one-size-fits-all answer to a problem. Even if it looks exactly the same as the problem they had at your old job. Ask questions, and listen more than you talk.

Hank Hill would be so proud.

I know bleach isn't the most benign chemical, but it works to kill weeds, and it's not carcinogenic.

Pie! For the fruity goodness.

The recipe on the side of the A-1 Steak Sauce bottle for "Texas Burgers" is a real winner. The only change I suggest would be that you need to add an egg and some breadcrumbs. These burgers are amazing.

1.4 British pounds per litre? £1.4 = USD$2.28; 3.79 litres = 1 gallon. $2.28/ltr x 3.79 = $8.64 per gallon. But yes, gas is more expensive in the UK. Yes, Americans need to be serious about buying smaller cars and reducing demand.

This is why kids in my school district now take typing (they call it "keyboarding") in 4th grade instead of high school. Kids today spend more time typing than we did, and start earlier. It would be harder to unlearn bad technique if they waited longer. I wonder if THEIR kids will learn typing earlier? Or if keyboards

Did Firefox allow you to make up your own spelling and add it to the dictionary? Because "definitley" is not the way it's spelled. (Just ribbing you a little, ok?) Here's the trick: FINITE is in the middle of it. Add the "DE" to get DEFINITE. Then add the "LY" on the end.

The movies show up at the library at the same time as they go on sale in stores.

Would you Easterners please keep the stink bugs to yourselves? We are just getting over the Asian Lady Beetle infestations here in Iowa. They stink, and occasionally they bite too.

Thanks for the intro to Rainmeter, Adam! Unfortunately I had so much fun finding a skin and customizing it, it really ate up my week last week. I think it beats the gadgets/widgets that you can get for Vista/Win7 from Microsoft.

DRM-free>DRM. iTunes finally got that, but too late. My loyalty lies with Amazon.

While I see the point of "buy local," there are a few things I buy online just so I don't have to find time to go to the store. Where I usually end up buying a bunch of other things I didn't realize I needed. Thank you, Amazon, for the auto-shipment service! (And thanks, Lifehacker, for telling me about it!)

Agreed. When the ex-husb was still living here, every time I got angry I would clean. Purge the countertops of clutter and extraneous paper. Very satisfying, and helped me burn off some nervous energy, more than exercise would.
