“Fuck Chase Utley.”

Utley: just go to hell, along with the stupid tbs analysts that try to justify the play and imply that Tejada is to blame for his injury.

How is this anything like Goodell? The MLB acted within 24 hours and actually took some definitive action (took LA’s starting 2b away for 2 crucial games)

I’d have been happy with Utley getting a suspension that lasts until Tejada can play baseball again, too.

Are you suggesting that umpires should be suspended for mistakes and games be replayed after a mistake is discovered? Or are you saying suspensions for malicious play that wasn’t called as such during the game is wrong? I’m confused at what you’re saying here.

Well suspensions applied after a game are not exactly unheard of when it comes to dangerous play (in pretty much every sport) and its hardly the first time an umpire has made a mistake with the call at the time. Not sure it’s that big a deal, it was such a ridiculous slide.

It was never a slide.

Never go full Goodell.

I’ll admit I was looking forward to seeing the New York crowd reaction if and when Utley came up to bat.

Do you want umpires to be suspended when they miss a strike call? My goodness.

Same reason they’re not replaying Game 1 because of a pitch Kershaw didn’t get called in the strike zone

That WILL be the rest of the series.

A year from now, we won’t be calling it a “slide”, rather “that time he broke Tejada’s leg..”

Who could've possibly foreseen this after the Buster Posey rule change? They should've outlawed collisions at all bases, not just home plate.

Mets reaction.

I was looking forward to Utley taking a 97-mph fastball from Hansel Robles to the head.

Luke Shaw favorited this tweet.

You act like we still have factories in business in WNY.

“Hey man, what’s all that white stuff covering the dollar bill in your hand?”

Well, colour me surprised.
