The Maverick is definitely the tool for that job, and a different class of vehicle in general. Even though a lot of people will use a Tacoma for purposes a Maverick could accomplish, they really aren’t worth comparing. 

I still don’t get it why Hyundai has not announced a hybrid version of the Santa Cruz, since the Tucson Hybrid has been pretty solid and both vehicles share a lot of components. 

Mostly impressive truck, but the cost and the MPG make it a no-deal for me. If I’m spending $50 I want more room in the cab and, frankly, I believe many full size trucks can manage similar MPG. 

“Unless your purchase is primarily dictated by cost . . .” For many, if not most potential buyers, cost IS a big part of the equation, especially when looking at midsize pickups. If funds are virtually unlimited, those lucky buyers will, most likely, be looking at their full-size options.
