As a straight woman, my strategy is as follows: I always offer to pay half on a first date. Always.

By the end of Season 1, I think you'll be sold on Liu. She actually has the MOST character development of all by season's end.

The structure is very typical police procedural stuff, and the mysterys aren't that great, but the characters are fantastic. And the conclusion of the overarching Irene Adler story is brilliant.

I think you're probably right. Moffat's big series-ending episodes have just been nonsense.

Yep. Sounded dumb and immature the last time it was posted as well. If you don't want all that stuff on your phone, why spend the money on a top tier phone and a data plan? Or, just —gasp— ignore it when you want to do other things...

So you're paying $90+ a month for an iPhone for no reason?? It sounds like you should just get a prepaid phone; or at the very least unlock that iPhone and get prepaid service.

The USS Vengeance is an allegory for the movie. You can make something bigger and more flashy and more powerful, but if at the end of the day the people at the helm aren't the right people, it will ultimately crash into downtown San Francisco.

That is, of course, assuming that the bible wasn't just, you know... Made up.

Or maybe God created the concept of the dragon. Or maybe it was comparing our adversary to a mythical beast that WE made up. Or maybe we made up god? Or maybe I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

The worst part is that kids now will use it wrongly and say "Nuh-uh! Google says I'm right!", and think that that's official and proof.

How about a remake starring her:

well, she was my fave character.

"Over HALF of the Doctor's regenerations have been old white guys."

I don't think the Doctor Who staff really had a handle on how regenerations worked. IIRC the original idea was that Patrick Troughton was supposed to be a younger version of the First Doctor, even though he was only a dozen years younger than Hartnell when he left the show. Pertwee was about the same age as

I don't want to get into an argument, but you're talking about one example of an atheist ideology vs. the mass amounts of damage done by religious authorities and their blind followers in the last hundred years, and continue to do. The problem with Stalin wasn't that he was anti-religion, the problem was that he wanted

Ugh, the fans are SO obnoxious.

Um, we're discussing works of fiction featuring unbelievable characters in impossible situations, not...

One of the oldest fan debates out there.

But if you watch it in reverse, it's a cool story about a load of frozen zombies who jump out of the sea, inhabit a cruise liner and happily arrive at Southampton!

A far, far better choice would have been Spock hissing Khan's name, showing barely contained ire. It would have matched best the idea of flipping the original elements of the sequence over.

a woman is like a tardis, all is bigger in the inside than the outside. that. is. so. cool. make sense if you think about it
