I fully converted to Gmail for (a) the spam filtering and (b) the conversation-style inbox. The latter has so vastly simplified ongoing e-mail discussions that it along is keeping me with Gmail. If Yahoo can reproduce or one-up this feature, I'll give it another look.

I have "released" about a dozen books of various styles and genres over the past three years and not once have I received a comment or acknowledgment of a pick up. BookCrossing is a great idea, but a dud in practice.

I've toyed with Handbrake, but I find it very confusing and unMac-like. Maybe I just need to explore it in more detail, but I don't find using it to be simple or straightforward. I converted a DVD, but only in a way that is iTunes-friendly, not iPhone-friendly. The steps to do so are not self-evident.
