I truly wish I could get on this ride with you, Ash, but we gotta be real here: in EA’s hands DA4 is going to be a dumpster fire as big as - if not worse than - Andromeda. There’s no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt that this isn’t going to be another MMO-like where you wander through huge empty maps doing

“Trying to create this weird public discourse and use your arguably easily-influenced fan base to try and get what you want is...I mean, it’s on brand but it’s really gross.

It's almost like we should bust up vertical and horizontal monopolies and duopolies!

they are both making clicks happen. one is performing grief for an audience, the other is reporting on a public figure’s death.

Well, I think you basically answered your own question but to me the most telling scene SPOILER ALERT is Pa Kent dying to hammer his point that nothing is as important as staying on the sidelines no matter what.

Zach Snyder turned Superman into a libertarian and a murderer and dreams of adapting Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead. I don’t think he’s the ally Ray Fisher thinks he is.

A few problems with that. I have no citizenship to the UK. I have an extreme dislike of monarchies. And it isn’t like the UK doesn’t have a history of equally shady shit.

I also live in the product of the trans Atlantic Slave Trade and the genocide of Native Americans. Doesn’t mean that I have to treat those involved as some kind of folk heros just like because I have benefited from those a couple hundred years later.

A podcast I was listening to the other day said something that shocked me because I had not realized it.

First off fuck Columbus. He never landed in any of the US states.

The very first mentions of the game said that CDPR planned it for both 3rd and first person, but by the time they had actually any real material to show, it was all 1st person. Most likely they discovered that the 3rd person just didn’t work for what they were trying to

Dragon Age Inquisition overwhelming? I dunno what to tell you man, but it was underwhelming if anything. If you find that game overwhelming I’d imagine that most rpg’s would be overwhelming for you. There really wasn’t much to that game.

There’s nothing ironic about that, it was intentional. The looters were punk kids, they looked like teenagers. The local news reporters on the ground at every protest throughout LA have been very quick to clarify that the looting factions are separate from the protestors. This has also been substantiated by all account

Well I guess now all I have left to read around here is the root and the occasional io9 article, fuck the herb man, just fuck him.

...and calling that number is a good way to get let go.

Show of hands...

If you had the personal email/phone number of your company’s CEO, someone who is one of the most powerful people in their entire industry, who could end your entire career without a second thought if you rubbed them the wrong way...would you contact them, for any reason?

Honestly, if things are so bad

Yeah, fuck you bobby kotick, you parasite of human misery.

In my experience, getting that information internally is not that difficult. It’s more that calling that number brings with it a certain type of response that is usually not the kind of response that the average worker wants invited upon them.

I fell asleep during Rise of Skywalker. I didn't even do that during the prequels. And I liked The Force Awakens and thought Last Jedi was, overall, a decent movie.
