True. My wife had a ‘96 before we met. Her father bought it for her when she turned 16, and they had to put 2 transmissions in it in the first year she had it. It also had the Quad 4 that was hot garbage.. she sold it to her brother in 2007 and he inexplicably still had it (and RUNNING(!)) 2 years ago w/ 250k+ on it.…

I think Gen 3 was way worse. They rusted completely through in 2 years. My aunt and uncle had an ‘88 Grand Am in white, and by ‘90-’91 the thing was covered in rust spots and was a colossal piece of shit, mechanically speaking.
