Awesome.

A real photo from AP photographer John Heilprin at the Geneva Motor Show. Here's the caption: Two hostesses joke with a feather duster as they sit on the hood of an Audi ABT car during the media day of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

That 909 has active aero as well. The two green flaps are mechanically linked to the rear suspension such that they lower when accelerating and raise when braking. Very cool technology for that era. Imagining someone driving that thing full tilt was a terrifying thought exercise.

Honestly, one of my favorite cars ever. The E38 7-Series cars were beautiful, fast, and everybody simply knows they have to get out of your way.

there's no reason a race car can't look good and be fast- the Peugeots looked good. The Daytona DPs (esp first years), not so much.

Yessss. I love this thing. You missed a really important aspect though. The big, heavy, un-maneuverable manned surface-to-air missile is the reason the US spent untold billions developing the nimble, versatile, lightweight F-15 and thus ushering in the modern age of jet fighters.

It is a beauty, but I'm sticking to my critique of the rear taper. It's a wee bit too much. I'd like to see a little more 1800es in it. And I'd move the glass down, too.

It's in the Filed To field just under the author's name at the top of the post. The URL is still the same, which you can always load in your favorite RSS reader:

Thanks, that's a great point now we're on Tiger. We'll come up with some solution

He was actually most closer to the action. The original image above is a photoshop.

Yes. It is.

Oh, well with that logic, the first black man to play in a major sport in America wasn't history either then, correct?

I'm not French nor do I eat snails. I'm just appealing to the recycling of a joke that has gone long past its life cycle.
