“something something Nintendo resale values”
“something something Nintendo resale values”
even if it is actually good (which i’m not buying so far), it feels weird to call it a ‘return to form’ which implies that it’s returning more to established strengths.
I think I’d agree with all of this. I was working a somewhat frail, magic-based build and my instinct was to keep my distance and I remember it leading to a lot of situations where I’d get hammered as I backed off. Even as I learned that you should ‘dodge towards,’ my instinct just couldn’t adapt to that because it…
nope, i had that exact same thought. From the first time I saw the trailer, Brothers was what came to mind. I feel like there might be a few other games that make more natural comparisons than inventing a single-player “It Takes Two” but I’m blanking on them... though didn’t that jailbreak game from the makers of…
took me days to beat Margit. I beat the somewhat similar Morgott in under an hour. Margit shows up before a player has probably found their way with the game’s systems so it makes sense. I feel like no boss has taken nearly as long since then (have not finished the game and I got annoyed and walked away from Radahn…
this is a take that you clearly spent longer than 4 seconds thinking about and therefore not allowed in this article. shame on you!
I mean, yeah, that’s an issue too. I didn’t want to get into that because I feel like doing that runs the risk of hitting spoilers in the game. Yes, the pacing is ridiculous. The Hobbit is a good analogy, but you could probably bring up the MCU or even the Twin Peaks revival (which was good, but spun its wheels for…
Would you consider XII to be real-time combat any more than the ATB system of IV-VII, though? The gambits might change the feel of it, but the crux of the game is still just your bar fills and you choose an action from a menu. The graphic representations of this happening on screen aren’t much more relevant than,…
I bounced off 7R pretty hard too. It’s overcomplicated and tries to be everything to everyone: you’ve got you’re classic ATB menus, your stagger gauges from XIII and the obligatory melee combat of XV. I did best playing as Aerith and just keeping my distance. It’s also just full of weird little flaws. The fact that…
I’d love for Persona 5 to have some competition in that dept.
i’m sure you’re right, but i probably tuned it out once I realized it was MP-related and just presumed there was no way it could possibly relate to my game.
yeah, this looks really generic. I have new Bayonetta and GoW games to scratch my action game itch. I don’t feel like this is very FF, and I don’t feel like they’ve done very well with their experiments in action gaming. SiP came closest, but it wasn’t quite there (though maybe it could be a template for a future…
i don’t play online at all so I’ve ignored the gestures entirely. Thus, I never understood that you were supposed to snap your fingers to make Blaidd come down to talk to you. That seemed really obscure.
also, the fact that a lot of the more illuminating quotes don’t get repeated doesn’t help matters.
i’ve read comments here that summarize the game’s lore and I still don’t understand it. I love the game, but I’d probably rather eat glass than try to spend any more effort on the lore.
i think every open world game runs the risk of feeling market-tested and slightly bland... this one, though, feels like they fell face first into that tendency.
ok, there’s precedent for this. The first game was basically given to everyone during the early stages of COVID. Also, the second game was packaged into bundles that were (probably) the easiest way to get a PS5. I wonder if either got any more engagement when those happened. I’m not sure how much more a PS Plus…
Anyone else of a certain age and misread “Tera Raid” multiple times before you realized it wasn’t the actress’s name?
yes, that is true. But I still think even over time GoW will go on sale less often (and less deeply) than the other $70 games. 2 years from now, you will not see multiple $30 sales in the span of a season, i believe.
Yeah, and HFW was practically a party favor given out with most bundles, as well.
