Isn’t this the 3rd time that Returnal has hit that $30 price point in the last few months? Demon Souls also hit that during the holidays, I’m pretty sure.

Yeah, my rule of thumb is that I need a substantial discount in order to compensate for what I’m losing (resale value, storage space and downloading time on Switch, etc) by not buying a physical copy. It’s subjective, but $20 is usually good.
Some parts of this mention “Xbox games” and some just mention CoD (compare the tweet to the image within it for the biggest example). I’d happily play Hi Def Rumble (or whatever the hell it was called) if they felt like bringing that over.
you’re still being too kind.
When I read this headline, I was not aware of the context and was hoping for something entirely different—a LEGO Zelda game. In my mind, it would have been a top-down affair like the original or LttP (maybe adjusted for LEGO views, but whatever). But I’d be amused by a Wind Waker remake too.
“Ma’am, this is a Big Bang Burger”
well, this would be more exciting if it wasn’t literally impossible to buy a PS5 without the new Horizon game a few months ago. You couldn’t buy just a console direct from Sony. They were sold out, so you had to buy a bundle with a code for the game.
i imagine it feels a little like when ridiculously difficult arcade games came to consoles 30 years ago. Some of the design decisions came over wholesale from a model where you played per play and it didn’t quite match up.
I feel like this is a really bad trailer. At first I thought it was a bad game, but now I think there’s no way to look at this trailer and tell *anything* about the game. At best, it has more climactic looking combat than BotW. There are a lot of vehicles (including a lawnmower for reasons). There’s a big bad who…
Yeah, that was some unreal mathing right there. They probably also think that Nintendo controls the price of used games.
People complain sooooo much about Nintendo not lowering their prices on first party games and it takes an additional $10 savings for this voucher program to get any daylight? I think people just want to be mad. Nintendo has a but load of faults, obviously. This program is actually a good thing, though.
That trailer felt generic and vague. There is probably a case for $70 games. Nothing I’ve seen about this game makes that case so far. It really looks like the DLC that it originally was meant to be.
White Sox were selling some tickets for $5 themselves a few years ago. I don’t even like baseball anymore, but it was a great way to spend an evening.
C’mon surprise Tokyo Mirage Sessions sequel!
it’s what i live for with these Directs, lol! I’m really unenthused about TotK and Pikmin 4 will be another Pikmin game (which is great, but I still have yet to finish Pikmin 3), so the thought of Nintendo adding some substance to this year’s calendar is really appealing.
are we... allowed/supposed/requested/whatever to spell SOPHIE’s name with only one capital letter? I’ve only ever seen it in all caps, so I’m just curious. After all, SOPHIE/Sophie didn’t change her mind on the matter...
now that i think about it, i’d take a FF7 Lego game over FF7 remake any day of the week.
Ah, they went to the Star Ocean school of UI design, I guess? That is a huge pet peeve of mine.
I look at the software out there for it and it just doesn’t look enjoyable.
I signed up for the PS5 direct purchase program and I would get emails on extremely rare occasions notifying me of availability. When the PS VR2 came available for pre-order I got notifications of a very regular basis. While not definitive, that seemed like a pretty clear sign that demand isn’t there for the thing.
