I agree that is ridiculous and you shouldn’t have been the target there, but I hear similar stories on facebook all the time. People get banhammered for minor things (there is a veritable thesaurus of Zuckerburg-proof synonyms for ‘white’ now, for instance). I don’t know if FB’s is worse, or just applied more

I feel like this argument comes way too close to letting American social media off the hook for very similar and equally nefarious practices.

There are no good ways to place a PS5, but i have to admit... yours comes closest.  If I wasn’t using a soundbar in my living room, I’d probably consider something like that.

i have my ps5 sitting sideways and it sucks. I have to move my tv over on the top level of my media stand and it still barely fits. It will fit in the compartment that held my ps4, but it’s tight and i’m too worried about airflow in that tight spot.

yeah, whenever i hear ‘lean’ at a company I work for, I take that as my cue to slack off a little, or if it’s in the media, I stop patronizing them. It means that they’ll stop rewarding any effort you make and become incredibly toxic. They probably deserve to go under.

weird timing, as i’d been eyeing DMC on Sony’s new year sale just recently. Given that PS Plus is on sale right now too, i could see it maybe being worth it; It’ll probably get at least one other decent game this year, right? :)

really hope there are raft/ladder interludes in the series! /s

absolutely agreed that that is a major factor. But I’m mostly thinking of the ‘complexity’ criticism here. And while I’m sure that some people do use the ‘oMg!! All these forms?? Ohno!’ thing as a cover for right wing/libertarian hogwash, I can’t imagine that those people would ever be looking to Europe as a model for

I really do wonder how much of the American aversion to taxes has to do with the prevalence of self-employment through a) notions of bootstraps, entrepeneur worship, etc and b) “jobs” where companies fuck over workers by mis-categorizing them as “contractors”. From what I understand, most countries aren’t much better

Did we ever leave turn-based gameplay? Are we counting the “Heroes” games as part of FE proper now? Not saying they can’t be... it just feels like something of a surprise.  Never occurred to me to include them.

thank you for reminding me that I still need to pick this up.  Now might be a good time to do that with gaming options being kinda ‘meh’ for the near future.

...because 3 did, and because it was kinda fun. I never played those games and felt that it seemed out of place of or like it was hurting the whole affair.

now, good luck finding anything to play on it! <ba-dum-ching>

i didn’t realize you could get reception good enough to post when you’re under a bridge...

I really can’t remember the last time that a AAA/open world marquee-level game drew me in as much as ER did. I’m absolutely terrible and haven’t come close to beating it after 200 hours, but I feel like I enjoy dying in ER more than I enjoy doing well in most games.

yeah, i look at ps and nintendo online stores and just feel indecisive and bored. I didn’t even beat Elden Ring, but I put in a couple hundred hours and anything AAA/open-world just looks flat to me now. My solution has been to go the opposite route and play short, dumb things: PVP Wingspan, PixelJunk Monters 2, Loop

who are these yahoos who are going back out to eat? Do they have the memory of a goldfish? Deaths and cases are going up faster than inflation right now.

all the comments saying “eh, i’ll try this out since i’ve already got gamepass” kind of illustrate my ambivalence towards GP in general. I worry as it gets more entrenched, games like this will become more common—sort of like how streaming has changed how pop songs are written, by and large.

I basically agree, but i’m willing to make an exception for calling Hades a “roguelite” as the roguelike qualities of the game are very mild. Variation between runs... extremely low. Number of permanent upgrades between runs... very high. It’s basically a store told in ‘run’ increments. The fact that runs are the

what if i couldn’t give a shit about the quality of your visual effects or Marvel’s and think your tech-dick contest is boring and childish?
