very surprised to read this article and see no mention of CoD Wii, which seems like a relevant precedent. And it was a while ago, but it wasn’t ancient history or anything. +1 for bringing it up.

if it was something that came out of the blue and ended up on, say, the eshop for $10, it would be fine. As the spiritual successor to Mega Man , it didn’t measure up.
I gave MS a shot during the 360 era when it seemed like they were making some effort with Japanese games. Vesperia, Star Ocean, Lost Odyssey, Nier, etc were all fun but then the whole thing fizzled out pretty abruptly. Then I was left with a hunk of junk that didn’t really do anything that I couldn’t get on my PS3…
doesn’t surprise me. I got burned on that a couple of times. Worse, i think digital credit may have an expiration date, but i’m not totally sure.
You really don’t know *anyone* who doesn’t use Amazon? not a soul?
When I look at gamepass, I don’t see choice. I see shame and exhaustion.
i find it sad and frustrating that this is an argument that even needs to be made. You couch it (slightly) in the tone of a revolutionary argument or hot take, but to me it’s really obvious. And yes, it’s universal, but i feel like i’ve noticed it getting worse during my lifetime. Did people shop a lot when i was a…
this is a fantastic price; kudos to them for hitting the sweet spot. I wish I had more interest in MS’s exclusives or felt that GamePass was worthwhile (the value goes way down if you buy a small handful of games a year and just play them to death). I do like that their library of video apps seems to beat Sony these…
I sunk an enthusiastic 110 hours into XC3 and beat it. It is easily the best of the series in both gameplay and story...and the series itself deserves a bit more credit than it tends to get. But GOTY is a bit of a stretch here, especially when the entire last chapter of the game was just miserable and dull. I’m hoping…
oh, if i was getting paid at that level, i could probably be good for a year or 2.
honestly, those severance terms sound pretty sweet. I could make that 4 months pay last for 6, easily. I’d volunteer for a buyout like that. Not that it absolves Zuck for his callous idiocy or anything...
I’m kind of glad this ended up not being done by B-N. Blasphemous is definitely a good take on side-scrolling Souls games and I doubt an ‘official’ take on it would have been much better. Having more companies making these games will hopefully keep them interesting in the long run.
yeah, i can’t get over just how unlikeable this game looks. I look at all the art and its just bad and so far nothing seems to offset it one iota.
i presume you also speak more like the real Mario than Chris Pratt?
Bayonetta 2 is one of the only games that I actually replay after having beaten. I’m absolutely terrible at it, but the combat is pure joy. Everything else is irrelevant and garbled. Pure Platinum to your take.
did this review even mention that? I skimmed a few parts, but I don’t feel like I saw that. That was one of my favorite ways to play with the combat system. That sounds like a highly relevant flaw and will actually affect whether or not I buy the game (not hugely, but more than her shacking up with a man or having a…
yes, me calling his take odd is clearly saying it shouldn’t exist. good talk.
I would happily pay generously for Criterion. I wish they’d make an app for the PS5; I know Roku exists but I don’t need another device. Until then, HBO Max is my best option. I wholeheartedly agree with Ronaldo’s take.
i’m locked into $5/month on ad-supported for a year. I think i have another 6 months. After that? No interest in how this is shaping up. I’d rather burn the money than have it end up in their pocket. Hot D wasn’t good enough to put up with this bs.
i’m sure it is. I’m not enthusiastic about that choice.
