So what should I be reading about feminism in general? I think I haven't read any of the classic, influential, every-feminist-needs-to-read books (don't judge me, I'm young) and I would like to know what's important, what isn't, and what's good. Suggestions?

Thank you :)

I think I've been reading Jez for about 1 1/2 years. I started reading because I got super interested in feminism and powerful women/ at the time, I really needed to be in a space where actual people were smart AND funny/my mom said, "Hey check out this site; I think you'll like it" and I did.

Almost 15! Most people here do seem to be older than me, although I've found a couple of other high schoolers here and there. I think most people are in the 25-40 range.

I don't think my school's food is this bad, although I bring my own 97% of the time, so I don't know. The little I do eat has clearly been pulled out of the back of the freezer, but it tastes all right. I will say that whatever gravy they put on the mashed potatoes makes everybody (read: me) insanely happy and willing

Is this also the episode where President Bartlet also is trying to properly cook a turkey and Charlie has to get him on the Butterball hotline and he ends up lying and saying he's from North Dakota or is that different episode? I find them equally hilarious.

I've decided not to care about stained underwear, but my god, does walking around with discharge make me feel uncomfortable. It always feels like I'm getting my period and am leaking. It makes me paranoid that I'm getting my period early practically every day. Anybody have a suggestion about this?

That is beautiful.

The weirdest thing that's happened in a sex-ed class so far (I have one more year of required health and who knows what special stuff they teach you then) is that our teacher tried to tell us that hormonal birth control will kill you for sure by somehow making your uterus fall out? And also some other fake reason? I

Junie B. Jones Has a Peep in Her Pocket was the first chapter book I read on my own. Barbara Park was my kindergarten reading experience. RIP.

I don't have much to personally say about the minority topic, my advice would be not to worry, but there's a website called MyCollegeOptions.org that my teacher signed my class up for and I think they had some articles on figuring out what colleges you'd be most comfortable at socially. Also, question for you: When

In 6th grade, as spring began, my social studies teacher sat us all down and told us that we were growing up and, as it was soon going to be very hot, we needed to be more conscious of our personal hygiene and needed to wear deodorant. Then she told us very very very firmly that under no circumstances were we ever to

That is absolutely fascinating. It don't think I would use it, but I like the idea a lot. Maybe they should have a customization option so you can have the number of beads correspond to your cycle.

Fun Story: My grandmother (a very nice old lady) has always been SO CONFUSED about this. She brought it up at dinner once when I was maybe 12 (and just figuring out what sex was anyway) and like even I knew they were going to get in the same tub eventually and it was actually so funny to see my uncle try to explain it

I have heard of a kid named Flash.

Ok, so I'm only a year out of 8th grade and today I got told I always look like a secretary in my daily outfit of jeans and a cardigan (no idea where my friend came up with this idea) so I'm pretty sure I would have been laughed out of school if I showed up in gloves and pearls. What school did this girl go to? Does

My high school's first dance of the year (and my first high school dance) is this Friday , and we have so far not been banned from any sort of dancing, although I heard from an upperclassman that last year a teacher tried to go break up a grind line and got ground on by accident. However, at the last dance I attended,

Down with you on your choices for Jo and Amy, think the Meg choice would be a little creepy and your Beth would not fade into the background properly.

Well, Ava or Eva is very very popular in my sister's grade. They've got 4 of them or something, and some of the Ava's are pronounced Eva, and some of the Eva's are pronounced Ava, and its highly irritating for all involved. My parents thought they were being safe when they named my sister after our great-grandmother

The "n" ending ones already happened with the boys. Maybe we'll see it in the girls.
