Looks like the desktop beta may only be available for Mac right now. On the bottom of the download page, there are graphics for different mobile devices and a laptop/. the laptop is labeled, "Sign up for beta." When clicking on the laptop it specifies, "Sign up for Mailbox for Mac." :(
