Well the price of a ssd that can hold both windows and OS X will be higher, as windows takes a lot of room, but there is no difference in how you set up this configuration on a ssd or hdd, and using the computer will work the same (albeit faster).

You can't exactly destroy a mostly volunteer based community by actions that don't directly affect them. No one has to give up their Ubuntu install because Android exists. You are still allowed to contribute to gnu software if you want (and sign away your work), even if there are developers for Android.

It's not necessarily from a browser user agent string, it could be that their app collects the device identifier and then passes it along to the server for analytics. Not much chance of that being spoofed if it's the developers own code collecting the data.
