So step 1 should be throw out your router if it isn’t from Apple, Google, or Ubiquity. As the consumer lines from linksys, asus, netgear, d-link, tp-link, cisco, etc. are all fundamentally insecure at the firmware level, no matter if you patch them or not, even worse if it comes from your ISP.

That’s about as bad as my being able to read any other’s user’s files under their home directory if they haven’t explicitly chmod’d them to remove group or world read privileges.

The browser patches obviously protect you from javascript based attacks such as from ads; but they don’t protect you from other code that you run without much validation. For example: node modules, wordpress plugins, or even chrome extensions until Chrome is updated.
