Trumpster has no idea what a trade deficit is or how tariffs work, and he’s going to wreck the economy as a result. The best case scenario is that the rest of the world manages to silo us off economically, like a leper island. Otherwise this dumbass trade war will have global consequences. And between this, the

Came here for cars, got an economics lesson... no regrets.

So normally I would come on here and call conservatives a bunch of pejoratives, but I’ve had a number of social media interactions that make me think perhaps people legitimately don’t understand how economics and government budgets work. So this is going to be a rare, good-faith attempt from me to explain this stuff

Don’t get this twisted: Trump’s scattershot tariffs have absolutely nothing to do with world trade. That’s the misdirection play. Trump’s tariffs make no sense in terms of international trade because that’s not the purpose of them.

I mean the GOP is basically 100% victim mentality.

So, we’re gonna fuck up the auto industry on the american continent while china’s auto industry gets stronger and stronger because as it sits now, they don’t need us at all. We’d be a fairly tiny addition to their market. And europe can focus on the chinese market and forget us, as again, we are a drop in the bucket

The US is the biggest bully since the pre 1940's British Empire. We are not ripped off or exploited by anyone. When our military or dollar-policy says “Jump”, other countries ask “How high?”. This current Administration has such a victim-mentality, or more accurately, exploits the massive desire of the populace to

Also worth noting that nothing in that quote talks about things getting better. Nothing in any quote talks about how any of these decisions will actually improve anything. Not even a concept of how things can get better anymore.

“We may have short term some little pain, and people understand that. But long term, the United States has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world,” he said.

I’m shocked. This is my shocked face. You’re telling me that Trump is a disingenuous lying gas bag who only punches down? You mean he’s an idiot racist that will just whinge at an conservative bugaboo that the TV sad was bad?

That recession we’ve managed to stay ahead of for the past six or so years? It may be inevitable. Tariffs are a tax. They lead to reduced business activity (recession) and inflation. Just remember, Obama handed Trump a great economy. He destroyed it. Biden handed Trump once again a great economy. He will destroy it

Don’t a lot of the old scubarus have the top mount IC’s so the scoops drops air right into them? I feel like you are missing a lot of info.

For sure that happens to me ALL THE TIME. Wait, that hasn’t happened to me, in, ummm, like ever? Maybe 10+ years ago and I don’t remember?

What the hell are you talking about? Not a single mention of top mount intercoolers in the article? Since when are hood scoops routing to air intakes?

This is a psychological issue not a practical one. You get to fill your car at home and have anywhere from 100 to 300 miles to exploit daily. Do you really think you will find yourself in a dangerous part of town after driving around for 300 miles in one day?

My summer daily driver is a 1990 964 with 275,000 on the clock.  If you look closely, you can see stone chips and faded paint.

1980 Triumph TR-7 convertible. Haven’t driven it currently cause it’s winter and...yeah. Also working from home means I don’t have to daily drive anything, as almost everything I need is within walking distance. But it is a fun car to run to the store or whatever.

Unfortunately it’s down for an axle replacement but a ‘95 Neon with a Stratus 2.4 and SRT other parts. lol — it’s name is aptly: Frankenberry (It’s metallic pink - strawberry pearl 30 yrs ago)

The oldest car we *could* drive if we wanted to, is the 89 3/4-ton Suburban we use to tow heavier shit with. Then there’s the

My daily driver is a 1996 Honda Magna 750. If it's raining or otherwise treacherous, I drive a 1963 Ford F100.
