Agreed! My late Granny learned this method from a farmer at our farmer's market. She never made it any other way after that. 

It’s the kind of mid budget movie that just doesn’t exist anymore. High concept and not great. But made with some obvious effort and featuring recognizable character actors throughout.

This is what we do in our house. Traditional methods be damned. Throw that unshucked corn into the microwave for a few minutes then shuck, season, and enjoy. It’s perfect. 

Even lazier don’t shuck it. The husk will provide better flavor and any additional steaming moisture needed.

And a cooked cob is easier to husk. For some weird reason especially when you nuke it.

There are some great deep SciFi stories in The Orville that I will think about for the rest of my life, like the social media planet, the lost generational ship, or getting attached to an AI generated girl from the past. I think I’ve said it on a previous version of this discussion. I was probably ten when I saw it, but it was the summer I turned eleven, so I’ve always thought of eleven as my Star Wars age.

Oh my yes, they’re WAY better when cooked by someone who knows what they’re doing.  Not my mom who grew up learning Depression era cooking.

Grilled or broiled is my favorite way to cook it.  I like a little char on it.

Why would you boil asparagus??? I’m with Murry Chang, you gotta lightly sautee it with some garlic and squeeze lemon over it. Otherwise it gets all soggy and limp and gross.

I’ve had boiled asparagus a couple times and it was gross, though that was probably boiled more on the 15 minute side rather than 5 minutes

It seems obvious that unsealed popcorn dries out and doesn’t pop well, worsening with age. I tried soaking some terrible popcorn but it had no effect; my theory was moisture getting out might mean I could put some back in.

Legends was without a doubt the best.  Would have been nice to get a final season to wrap it all up.

There are about a dozen types of nonstick pans our there. Is graniteware the same as circulon or is it more like teflon? When you’re putting out a warning,  specificity is helpful.
