It’s a rare show that can pull off this kind of terrific absurd comedy but also have so many great serious and moving scenes. My wife and I are currently rewatching the first two seasons before we start on S3.

Wow, are there really not any Hardee’s in the Chicago area? That seems strange. I worked at Hardee’s in high school, just after they introduced biscuits. Back then there were no Arby’s anywhere in the region, so Hardee’s was the only fast-food place where you could get a roast beef sandwich. Our local one was

There was a local BBQ place that had a smoked cabbage side dish. It had hints of bacon and cider vinegar, and when it was on point, it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Unfortunately, the building was destroyed in a tornado a couple of years ago, and the owner hasn’t rebuilt or reopened. :(

And wife

Me, too. Especially galling, because I figure somewhere down the street they probably put them on, swore, then tossed them in the ditch. :(

On the plus side, it probably is good for many of us running smallish fairly high-boost turbochargers!

I don’t eat cereal much, and when I do it’s often for a quick supper, but I have to mix them together. I’ll usually do something like Cheerios, Raisin Bran, and Grape Nuts together. The variety of textures improves it immensely.

I mean, a lot of problems could be solved with giant lasers.

Nice collection. I think the Allante maybe doesn’t get much respect these days, but I always thought it was a good-looking car.

It’s kind of funny you have the Neon and apparently a Regal. I also have a Neon and a Regal. Twins! :D You don’t also have a Ford Fusion or any 80's Dodges, by any chance?

There are some factory scissor-type jacks that are designed to go on the pinch weld. If I remember correctly you have a (nice!) 1st-gen Neon. The factory jack in the 2nd-gen Neon, at least, is designed to go in the notched and reinforced areas of the pinch welds. There are better places on the Neon if you have a

I really like my hard anodized pans (I have Circulon). They’re a good all-around compromise in terms of cost, durability, heft without too much weight, and just general usefulness to us who are not pros but like to cook.

Capitalism! It’s often said that the principles of competition force businesses to offer products at the lowest price the market will bear. But in truth that’s a backwards way of looking at what it really does. Instead it guarantees prices and profits as high as the market will bear. A business will always charge as

Heh, yeah I commented on that one back then, too. I love science, but there’s some flawed science, unfortunately.

Very little plastic comes off a plastic cutting board in reality. I’ve been using a couple of them for about 25 years, and they’re scratched but not noticeably worn any thinner.

I already find a Double Whopper Jr. to be one of my favorite fast-food burgers. It’s got just the right ratio of ingredients.

In my neck of the woods, Denny’s, Hardee’s, and a truck stop are the only places within a 50 mile radius that are open 24 hours. The local Denny’s isn’t bad, at least at lunchtime, which is the only time I’ve been there. I wish they still had waffles, though. They had the best waffles in town. There are a couple of

It seems surprisingly hard to search for this: what is that part made of? It looks like some kind of plastic composite with an aluminum skin?

I sometimes make up a quick small batch of “Chex” mix as a snack, regardless of whether I have any actual Chex in the house. Just about anything crispy works—CheezIts, Cheerios, pita chips, pretzels, oyster crackers, any kind of nuts. Melt a tablespoon of butter, mix it with some Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder,

I didn’t know the 4 train went to Jaglan Beta.
