My parents have one of those. Only 28K miles on it! It’s just been sitting in the garage for probably 10 years now.

Today, of course, we know that they should have evolved into crabs.
First shots have already been fired with Frank’s RedHot ad slogan.
He also starred in season 2 of The Afterparty on Apple TV. I found that to be a really funny and enjoyable show, but it doesn’t get much mention anywhere.
Sometime back in the ‘90's I went to a KFC that was out of chicken somehow.
If necessary I’ll be able to escape from my Neon SRT-4 that way. Except that I’ll have to crawl into the back seat first, since infamously only the rear windows are manual!
The MKZ is a beautiful car. I have the Windows CE-based SYNC 2, and I actually like the *design* of it, mostly. Except for navigation, which has possibly the worst user interface I’ve ever seen in a piece of software. I’ve used the later system in other cars, and while it has more features and is faster, the design…
My local one is pretty bad. Every once in a while I forget or something, and give it another shot. But it always is still terrible. Just last month my wife and I took my father-in-law there, because that’s where he wanted to go. I had a grilled chicken breast dish of some kind that had an incredibly bad texture. It…
My first job in high school was at Hardee’s, just about the time they started serving biscuits. I was surprised to find that they were made from scratch, with a lady coming in at 3:00 every morning to make the day’s biscuit dough. I also always thought it was funny that the biscuits were completely made from scratch,…
Absolutely! I’m convinced you can put good balsamic on anything, and it will be delicious. I’ve had it on fruits, veggies, meat, ice cream. I drizzle it with olive oil on raw veggies and on blueberries and raspberries at lunch all the time. Like you said, it has to be the good stuff, thick aged balsamic, not the…
I really like the cluster and general interior of our 2016 Ford Fusion. I feel like the design language is consistently carried throughout it, and the controls are well laid out. The left and right sides of the cluster are configurable, and controlled with the directional pad buttons on the wheel. I usually keep the…
I agree. One of these said, “Take care of them and they will last,” and that’s the most important part. I bought my 2004 Neon SRT-4 new, and I have just over 245K miles on it now!
Maybe these places are just (very) late to the suburbanization party.
Instead of this post, the one above it about a horror movie accidentally got “for some damn reason” in its headline, for some damn reason.
I lived in St. Louis in the late ‘80's, and the population of the city now is already 25% less than then. The population of the whole metro area hasn’t changed very much, mainly just the city itself.
That was pretty standard for almost all cars until sometime in the 80's. I know my first couple of cars were like that.
They still do. I’m driving my father-in-law’s 2014 Buick today, and it has a switchblade-type key. As does my own 2016 Ford Fusion.
Yes, the style goes back to the 1930's at least. I’d argue that Steak ‘n’ Shake, which started in Normal, IL, had one of the first widely available versions in their Steakburger. When I was in high school in the early 80's, there was a tiny little diner down the street in our Southern IL town that had great smash…
They were great dipped in Arby’s Three Pepper sauce. One of the best fast-food sauces, IMO, spicy but not too spicy, and really nice pepper flavor. The crinkle fries are good dipped in it, too, but they’re no substitute for the potato cakes.
I agree, the three pepper sauce is great. As you said, it’s not super-spicy and has a really nice flavor. My favorite side used to be the potato cakes with three pepper sauce. I actually like the crinkle fries. As long as they’re fresh, they have nice potato flavor, a soft creamy inside, and a crisp exterior.
