Like every year when this comes out, I question it. I got a couple of bags of candy last week, and I would swear that fully half the aisle was Reese’s items. It’s implausible that they aren’t number one almost everywhere.

Looking forward to a follow-up: The Best Snack Cake to Pair with Champaigne.

Oh, yeah, forgot about the voice command system. “Comically useless” is a perfect description for it.

I use nitrile-dipped gloves a lot. They’re a good balance between protection from oil and stuff and still being able to feel and manipulate small parts. They’re more durable than just plain rubber gloves, but also fairly cheap, so I buy them in packs of 10 or so and toss them when they get too dirty or worn.

I actually kind of like the resistive screen, especially in the winter when I’m wearing gloves. Maybe I’m lucky, but it hasn’t malfunctioned for me, and it’s responsive enough that I don’t mind it. Much of the actual interface (the My Ford Touch one) I think is actually pretty good. BUT, the way you have to enter a

I used a refinishing kit on a bathroom vanity, and I was really happy with the results. It’s been more than three years, and it’s held up well. The more prep you do, the better it will be. Before and after:

I’ve found that doing pushups holding dumbbells, as you suggest, to be very helpful. I have arthritis, worse in one wrist, and I can do them with minimal pain that way.

Carroll Shelby was one of original people involved in Terlingua and a founder of the ICS. I like Carroll Shelby Chili myself, basically a big bag of seasoning plus extra cayenne you can mix in to make it as hot as you want. It’s been through a few owners over the years, I think, but is currently owned by a company

No, I’ll look him up. Thanks.

Pullups are actually my target. I’m 57 years old, and I originally set a goal of being able to do a single pullup. I started around the beginning of last year not able to even raise myself at all. After about 3 months I reached that first goal of 1 good pullup, so I set a new one of 10! I can do 4 regularly now, and 5

I thought of this: http://thetakeout.com/mcdonalds-glazed-pull-apart-donut-review-1847583988

I am working on grip, as well. I tried holding the band last night instead of looping it around my wrists, and I found it significantly harder to pull apart. Holding it moves it about 4 inches further from my body. I just did a quick torque calculation (computer programmer who started by studying mechanical

I swear GM has apparently found the only source of interior plastic worse than what Chrysler uses. I’m kind of a Mopar guy, but I admit they can be pretty plasticky.

My only options within a 30-mile radius are Domino’s and two regional chains, plus gas station pizza (which is honestly pretty tasty at a couple of the local stations).

I feel really dumb now. I’ve been doing pull-aparts by looping a band around my wrists, but it can be hard to keep it there while I move my arms apart. Why in the world didn’t I think of just grabbing the band in my hands?!?

Those are trips they voluntarily disclosed, right? So they're listed on that site that makes disclosures available. Thomas didn’t disclose a lot of the trips he took and the expensive gifts he received. Which he was required to do by law, in many cases.

If he thinks about it honestly, I’m sure he’ll see that “cell phones don’t work in cars” is a completely unrealistic and unworkable idea.

The point is, I was already being as careful as I possibly could, but someone could still have been (illegally!) riding a bike down the sidewalk and in front of me. And you want to blame me for that unconditionally.

So who’s going to navigate on trips then? I guess we’re going back to paper maps?
