Until sometime in the 70's, several of the little discount department stores and drug stores in our town had lunch counters. Two I remember were Grants and Kresge, a company which later became...K-Mart! The old Kresge building still stands in our aging downtown area and is again serving lunches. It’s the home of my

I picked two quarts of wild blackberries behind our house this year and made a couple of jars of seedless jam with half of them. Whew, picking wild blackberries involves literal sweat and blood! The jam is really good on ice cream or on fresh peaches. The past three weeks we’ve gotten really excellent local peaches at

Well that brings back memories. My first new car (second car overall) was an ‘85 Escort I bought just before my wife and I got married. It shifted great, better than any other manual I’ve ever driven. The 1.6L engine in it was a dog, though, with a fatal design flaw. It didn’t have a PCV system, and eventually

Looks like there’s pretty universal love for the Butter Cookies. This past winter I started making my own shortbread cookies. (Well, “started” if you don’t count peanut butter, which are also basically a shortbread cookie.) They’re really easy to make, and probably even more craveable than Royal Dansk. I really

That’s the main kind of upsetting thing. I’m paying them for 4 simultaneous streams. Why should it matter where those streams physically are?

I sometimes mix up a small, quick batch of egg-free peanut butter cookie dough as a snack. I bet you could chill balls of that and dip them in magic shell for quick and easy buckeyes. Mmm!

I’ll keep driving it until it falls apart, or until my old knees won’t let me press the clutch anymore. :)

Yes, I've just got the common Rescue brand ones. It's incredible how they fill up with beetles.

I’m not seeing anything like that in either Edge, Chrome, or Firefox. Using uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger.

Maybe they’re collecting one of each SRT Commemorative Edition?

A few years ago my niece had a Harry Potter themed wedding, with guests invited to wear costumes. It was a lot of fun. My wife is a redhead, so I dyed my hair red, and we went as the Weasleys.

I’ll be honest, it’s not completely rust-free. Some rust is unavoidable with all the salt on the roads in the winter. But the worst of it, the rocker panels, were replaced when I repaired and repainted it after a tree fell on it in the driveway last year. That’s when I added the subtle classy stripes, as well. :) I

You need a better ad blocker or settings on your current one.

Nice. Mine’s had Stage 2 w/toys virtually its whole life. Currently running the S2 injectors, wastegate actuator, and sensors, but with a BWS turbo, custom calibrated PCM, and factory Neon cruise control baby! Having cruise is great. I wish I’d done it sooner.

Just 3:1, but yes that’s still a lot.

Wikipedia’s wrong about the first date for deep fried Coke, because I had it at the Texas state fair prior to 2006. I don’t remember the exact year, but it had to be prior to that, because I moved from Texas to Illinois in 2005. Ah, I see that the first article Wikipedia references only says the inventor won an award

Still daily driving my 2004 Neon SRT-4. I bought it new in the fall of 2003, and it’s got over 240K miles on it now. Such a fun little car! This was last winter:

The bag traps have worked pretty well for me. I couldn’t really use this racket method for my apple and cherry trees, which are what the beetles chomp on in my yard.

The venting on microwaves can vary a lot. Our old one was terrible, but the vent on the (fairly cheap) one I replaced it with is far, far better. I suspect the little flap on the outlet of the old one didn’t open properly, and that prevented it from moving much air.

The Aristocrats!
