Just 3:1, but yes that’s still a lot.

Wikipedia’s wrong about the first date for deep fried Coke, because I had it at the Texas state fair prior to 2006. I don’t remember the exact year, but it had to be prior to that, because I moved from Texas to Illinois in 2005. Ah, I see that the first article Wikipedia references only says the inventor won an award…
The bag traps have worked pretty well for me. I couldn’t really use this racket method for my apple and cherry trees, which are what the beetles chomp on in my yard.
The venting on microwaves can vary a lot. Our old one was terrible, but the vent on the (fairly cheap) one I replaced it with is far, far better. I suspect the little flap on the outlet of the old one didn’t open properly, and that prevented it from moving much air.
The Aristocrats!
Well, there is some evidence it was restricting blood flow to her brain.
I thought the SC already settled this with that Kentucky county clerk a year or two ago?
After going through a years-long literal dry spell, Quarter Pounders have been pretty tasty again for a while now. They taste the way I remember them tasting when I was a kid in the 70's. This burger sounds delicious, and I think I’ll try one tomorrow for lunch. (Already have plans for today.)
Don’t forget that the original film was financed by Quaker Oats, who wanted to get into the candy business and thought the film would be a great promotion for an introductory tie-in product.
KFC’s honey BBQ sauce is very tasty. You’ve actually been able to get essentially this sandwich with minor variations under different names for several years. It’s a good chicken sandwich.
I know I’m out in the sticks, but I just put in my ZIP code there, and every one of the five restaurants it listed has been closed for at least 2 years.
It was such a treat as a kid when either Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on TV. Because that was the only way to see them in the dark ages before we even had VCRs!
Ah, thanks! A mystery of life cleared up. I won’t dismiss your post. :)
Okay, seems like a good place to ask this. I have never seen a “Dismiss” option there. Even if I disable ad blocking, there isn’t one. I only see Follow, Flag, and Go to permalink. What am I doing wrong?
Ha! I actually mixed potted meat with butter and used it as a foie gras substitute when I made Beef Wellington. It seemed like a reasonable facsimile, and turned out pretty good.
I’m no expert, but I thought western shirts usually do have snaps.
Surely some of the effects are from the release of endorphins? I mean, I really enjoy the taste of my morning cuppa.
I’m roughly 300 miles south of you, and it’s smoky here, too. I remember a day like this when I lived in Dallas, when we had smoke from Mexican fires. As you said, it looks, and smells, weird.
I’ve told people who complain about Cats being a bad musical that it’s a poem turned into a musical stage play. Honestly I think it helps to think of it that way. Personally, I enjoy Cats. I even kind of enjoyed the weird movie version for its ridiculousness. :D
