I’ve had perfect results from respiratory maneuvers for stopping hiccups. What I do is exhale as far as possible, and when I think I’ve pushed all the air out, try to push out a bit more. Then I inhale as deeply as possible, and hold it for a few seconds, not too long. I’ve never had that fail to stop my hiccups.

They’re all part of SSM Health now. On their site I put in the ZIP, and the nearest maternity services it showed was in Shiloh. But when I go to the individual hospital site for Mt. Vernon, it does show they do birthing there. No longer in Centralia, though.

My wife was born here, as well. There won’t be any more babies born here, because the hospital no longer has a maternity department. 50 mile trip to the nearest one that does. Life in rural America. :(

Hey, from Centralia. We lived elsewhere for 20 years, but we moved back here to care for our aging parents. Our kids are grown now, but when our daughters were teenagers, they didn’t believe me when I told them the teen pregnancy rate was actually worse when I was in high school in the 80's.

Ooo, interested to see how this goes. My dad has a 198x Country Squire that looks basically like this, and also with the V8 and mileage in the 20k range. He really should get rid of it, because it never gets driven these days, and this might give me an idea what it could bring.

I’m almost 57, and it’s still a comfort food kind of thing for me. My wife tried an experiment a few weeks ago: she made a quick and easy pot pie for lunch with DM beef stew and a Bisquick dough topping. It was pretty tasty!

I highly recommend white electrical tape for labeling. It won’t come off in the freezer until you peel it off, but then it will come off easily and cleanly.
